Not everything could heal, even through the Force, but the grass was greener, smog no longer filled the air, and Loth-cats scurried through the meadows without fear of stormtroopers. It was a heartwarming scene. But it was a scene she had grown used to, and these days, it left her feeling more hollow than fulfilled.
He was counting on her, she knew that. But was this what he wanted? Lying down in one of the actual beds she'd fitted the comms tower with, Sabine picks up one of the cats that's managed to sneak in. She lifts it up, staring at it as its little limbs just go limp in the air. These things were practically domesticated by now.
And then she hears the familiar hum of a starship. Hera's not visiting today. Neither is Zeb. Her family's-
She drops the Loth-cat, which of course lands perfectly on its feet, and rushes down to the landing platform. It's not a ship she recognizes, and out of habit, she aims her blaster at it, waiting for its occupant to make themselves known. Just a single blaster, that's all she had time to grab since she was in civvies. Her hair blows everywhere in the resulting wind, and she's mad she hadn't tied it up earlier.
